We will be using various techniques to maximise the behaviour of the light. Backlighting is one of my favourites and can be used for portraiture or nature. Bokeh is Japanese for blur but is a term used for soft out of focus balls of light which can look very pleasing. Burst in this case is star burst which can be achieved when you have strong areas of light and a correct choice of aperture. Use all three to create some amazing compositions.Leasowes Park. 3 Leasowes Lane, Mucklow Hill, Halesowen B62 8DH

Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.

Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

No real Story Has seen the signs for Pugin's Gem seemed, and was, a great place to visit. I hope the image serves to illustrate what a superb place it is very mush under publicised Should be better known.

I'm a frequent visitor to my local race track and motorcycle sprints are not very common there. So this is a result of a rare opportunity of capturing bikers in motion. Canon 90D Sigma 150-600mm @ 280mm 1/80s F5.6 ISO100

Just out walking in the Peak District and luckily I had my camera with me and as I turned around there was a Robin just perching on a post so quick as a flash I managed to get a decent few shots.

I enjoyed a photowalk event with Laurie Gallant and the Sacramento Photography group visiting Horton's Iris Farm. I always bring my Infrared camera with me in hopes of getting some good IR shots. When I saw the old red truck, I HAD to shoot it in IR! This is one of my favorite shots from that day and will go into my portfolio for sure!

I was on holiday in Sydney and I went to Circular Quay to take some night time photos, when I saw that the opera house was lit up. I took a couple of photos ,then went to change my lens.By the time I had done this I saw the lights on the opera house had gone out. I then realised it was a rehearsal for Vivid a Sydney winter light show which takes place around the harbour.

This was part of a video/photo assignment I did few years ago before my retirement about Florida Vultures, "nature clean-up crews". These are a very interesting and important creatures, they clean dead animals thus preventing the spread of serious diseases.
